Terms of service

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Welcome to SKWAD.community. These terms are the deal between you and us when you use the SKWAD.community app and website. Please read them. By creating an account, you agree to them, and to our Privacy policy.

The short version, which you also saw when you signed up: treat other members with respect, show up to hangouts you commit to, and follow SKWAD.community's community guidelines. Repeated no-shows or abuse can get an account suspended.

1. Who can use SKWAD.community

  • You must be 18 or older. You confirm this when you sign up. If you're under 18, please don't use SKWAD.community. We'll close any account we believe belongs to someone under 18.
  • SKWAD.community is invite-only. You need an invite code from a member, or from us, to sign up. We may limit how many people can join.
  • SKWAD.community is starting in California. For now it's open only to the people we invite.
  • You can't use SKWAD.community if we've banned you before, or if the law doesn't allow you to.

2. Your account

  • One person, one account. Don't sign up for someone else or pretend to be someone you're not.
  • You sign in with a code we email you. Keep your email account secure, because anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
  • Pick a username that isn't offensive and doesn't impersonate anyone. Don't pretend to be another person, a brand or business, or SKWAD.community (including its team, support or moderators), in your username or anywhere else. Some usernames are blocked automatically, including names of well-known people, brands, teams and public services.
  • We may change or reclaim a username that impersonates someone, misleads people, or breaks these terms, with or without notice. If you are the person or business a blocked name belongs to, email support@skwad.community and we'll help.
  • You're responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else is using it, tell us at support@skwad.community.
  • Invite codes are yours to share with people you know. Redeeming a member's code makes you and that member friends on SKWAD.community. Don't sell codes or post them publicly.

3. Community guidelines

SKWAD.community only works if people can trust each other. These are our community guidelines. When you use SKWAD.community:

  • Be respectful. No harassment, bullying, hate, threats or intimidation, in the app or at a hangout.
  • Show up. If you join, go. If you can't make it, cancel as early as you can so someone else can take your spot. Cancelling 3 or more hours before the start never counts against you.
  • Be honest. Post real hangouts with accurate times and places. Don't impersonate anyone or lie about who you are.
  • Respect blocks. If someone blocks you, don't try to contact or follow them another way.
  • Keep it safe and legal. No violence, weapons threats, illegal activity, drugs or sexual content. No sexual approaches toward anyone who hasn't welcomed them, and nothing involving minors, ever: we have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (see Child safety on our Support page).
  • No spam or selling. SKWAD.community is for hangouts, not for advertising, recruiting or solicitation.
  • Don't misuse SKWAD.community. Don't scrape it, break it, get around its limits, or use another account to get around a block or a suspension.
  • Don't file false reports. Reporting someone to get back at them is itself a violation.

4. Meeting people in person

SKWAD.community helps you meet people you may not know, in real life. That's the point, and it carries real risk.

  • We don't run hangouts. Hangouts are organised by members. We don't check who people are, do background checks, inspect venues, or supervise what happens.
  • Use your judgment. Meet in public places, tell a friend where you're going, get there your own way, and leave if anything feels wrong.
  • Activities carry risk. Sports and other activities can lead to injury. Only join what you're fit and able to do, and bring what you need to stay safe.
  • In an emergency, call 911. Then tell us.
  • You take part at your own risk. To the fullest extent the law allows, you accept the risks of meeting other members and joining activities, and SKWAD.community isn't responsible for the conduct of any member, at a hangout or anywhere else.

5. What you post

  • It's yours. You keep ownership of what you post: hangouts, titles, descriptions, reports and anything else.
  • You give us permission to show it. By posting, you give SKWAD.community a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and share your content within SKWAD.community, to the people it's meant for, and to run and improve the service. This ends when the content is deleted, except where we need to keep it (see the Privacy policy, including legal holds).
  • Hangouts are visible. A hangout's details and venue address are shown to everyone it's open to. Don't post a place you aren't comfortable sharing.
  • You're responsible for what you post. Make sure you have the right to post it and that it follows these terms.
  • We may filter or remove content. Some words are blocked or replaced automatically, and we may remove anything that breaks these terms.

6. Reports and moderation

  • Report anyone who breaks the rules from their card, from a hangout's list of people going, or from their message in a hangout's chat. You can also email support@skwad.community. We read every report.
  • When you report someone, we may limit what that person can do while we review it.
  • We review reports and may warn, pause, suspend or permanently ban an account. For the most serious cases (anything involving a minor, trafficking, prostitution or solicitation, sexual assault or rape, sexual harassment, abuse, or a threat of violence) we may act straight away, before a review. We have zero tolerance for these: we preserve the account's information and report it to the authorities.
  • If your account is paused, the app will tell you when you try to join or host. If it's suspended, you'll be signed out, and the app will tell you the next time you sign in. We don't send the person who reported you, or anyone else, the outcome of a report. If you think we got it wrong, email support@skwad.community within 30 days and we'll take a fresh look.

7. Suspension and ending your account

  • You can leave any time by deleting your account in the app (Profile › Settings › Delete account) or by emailing us. See Delete your account.
  • We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we have to by law, or to protect other members or SKWAD.community. A suspended account can't use the app.
  • We may change, pause or stop SKWAD.community, or any part of it, at any time. SKWAD.community is in an early, invite-only test, and features will change.

8. Ads

SKWAD.community shows no ads today. In the future we may show ads in the app to help keep it free, as described in the Privacy policy. Advertisers don't get your personal information. Ads are from advertisers, not from us: we don't endorse what they offer, and any deal you make with an advertiser is between you and them.

9. SKWAD.community is provided "as is"

SKWAD.community is free, and it's an early version. We work hard to keep it running and safe, but we provide it "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that SKWAD.community will always be available, error-free or secure, that any hangout will happen, or that anyone you meet is who they say they are.

10. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • SKWAD.community won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill.
  • SKWAD.community won't be liable for anything that happens between members, at a hangout or elsewhere, or for any member's content or conduct.
  • Our total liability for any claim about SKWAD.community is limited to $100.

Some places don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

You agree to cover SKWAD.community's losses (including reasonable legal fees) if a claim is brought against us because of your content, your conduct at a hangout, or your breaking these terms.

11. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in San Diego County, California, and you and SKWAD.community agree to those courts' jurisdiction.

12. Apple and Google

If you got SKWAD.community from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and SKWAD.community, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google aren't responsible for SKWAD.community or its support. Your use must also follow the store's own terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and we may ask you to accept the new version. If you keep using SKWAD.community after a change, you're agreeing to the new terms.

14. Everything else

  • If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we don't enforce something right away, we haven't given up the right to.
  • You can't transfer these terms to someone else. We may transfer them if SKWAD.community changes hands.
  • These terms and the Privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and SKWAD.community about the service.
